First things first when it comes to home exterior, finding all the inspiration on the internet! Check out this post to see where we found inspiration for our new home builds exterior colors and style.

Home Exterior

Finding inspiration for a new home exterior is quite a process. Thanks to the internet it is sooo easy to get your hands (or eyes) on beautiful builds with unique colors and textures to point you in the right direction for your new home. At the same time, it’s extremely easy to become overwhelmed with all the choices and influenced by the latest trends even if its not your true style.

On top of all that, search results tend to put the top 10% in front of your face which just isn’t realistic for most people. We worked through all these feelings and aspects during the planning for our new home exterior so we can tell you first hand how important self-awareness is during this process.

Now onto the fun stuff! Below I’m sharing all the inspiration along with what specific aspects of each home exterior that stood out to us during our planning process for our new home.

Home Exterior Inspiration

Here are the main homes we looked to for inspiration. We wanted our home to be different but classic and all of these homes offered that in our eyes. From the brick to the roof, the lighting and garage doors, these are our top home exterior inspirations.

The Painted Cottage Home Exterior

We literally love everything about this home and used this as our initial inspiration. The off-white brick, the sandstone windows and the stained front door immediately caught our attention. We loved the way the warm roof made the brick feel like a soft white rather than the sharp contrast of white siding and black roofs.

Also the flower boxes!! I’ve already started looking for ones to put up once we move in.

The Neutral Utah Home

Another gorgeous house that caught our eye right away. The beautiful stained double doors, the dimensional stone and those sandstone windows are just some of our favorite features. This house is different from the cottage home we loved thanks to the stone that offers texture and a focal point on this home.

The window above the door is also a game changer!

    The Classic Home Exterior

You’ve probably noticed a pattern here right? Typically the homes we’re drawn to are light colors that give a timeless, classic look with accents of stained wood be it through doors, furniture or stone. This home really spoke to us most because the exterior elements were similar to ours.

We have bricks, siding, multiple roof lines and 2 garage doors. The only thing I don’t love about this home is the single sidelight. It definitely looks pretty but I’m a person who is drawn to symmetry.
