The Savannah Bananas Guide
Baseball meets a fun and exciting performance! Whether you saw them on TV or social media while scrolling through videos, you’ve probably been able to witness all the fun that is The Savannah Bananas.
I’ll admit, I was slightly confused by The Savannah Bananas when I first heard of them. Back in West Michigan we had the White Caps minor league team so I assumed the Savannah Bananas were exactly like them. However, the Savannah Bananas are part of the Coastal Plain League. Basically, these players come from surrounding colleges such as Alabama, Texas A&M, University of Georgia and so on. These players can then be drafted to the professional league with current previous players in both the major and minor league.
Basically, going to these games is a way to see young baseball players shine in a fun environment while also still giving them the ability to shine in professional baseball.
Do The Savannah Bananas Play Real Baseball?
Yes and no. They do participate in the Coastal Plain League season and play against other teams within their league. However, they also play against one another in the Bananas versus the Party Animals games. These games are played by 2 teams, both Savannah Bananas teams, and they are where you’ll see the most crazy fun. We’re talking men in stilts, twerking at the pitchers mound and all other kinds of crazy atypical baseball moments.
Where Do The Savannah Bananas Play?
Located in Savannah, GA, Grayson Stadium is home to the Savannah Bananas. This stadium was built in 1926 but underwent major updates in 1941 after it was damaged during a hurricane. It is full of rich history such as being a speaking location for Franklin D. Roosevelt as well as hosting major baseball names like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson and Mickey Mantle.
This stadium is an advertisement free stadium which means there are no major banners, commercials or anything of that nature affecting your experience. The stadium can hold a max of 4,000 people currently and has open seating, reserved seating and club seating.
Apparently there is a speakeasy within the stadium but I have yet to find it!
How To Get Savannah Banana Tickets
Whew, what a question! Because the Savannah Bananas have taken the country by storm finding tickets can be a little difficult. Your first option is to go to the Savannah Bananas website, click on tickets and click on the current/upcoming season. From there, you can sign up to join a single game priority list. This will give you access to presale tickets before the general public is notified. These sell out FAST.
Your next option is to find tickets that someone else is selling. A lot of people will resell their tickets on Facebook marketplace and other places like that. Be sure to do your research before giving anyone money though!
Types Of Tickets
There are 3 types of tickets to the Savannah Bananas games. These include general admission tickets, reserved seating tickets and stadium club tickets. It is important to note that kids 3 and under get in free!
General admission tickets are just that. They get you into the stadium where you can interact with players and make your way to first come, first serve seating. These tickets include all-you-can-eat of select menu items. The reserved seating tickets are the exact same thing except your spot in the stadium is guaranteed and you get in seat service by a stadium waitress.
Stadium Club tickets come with a whole set of additional perks. The stadium club ticket owners get a special parking area as well as a private entrance to the stadium. This doesn’t seem like a huge deal but it is as the line can get really long. You also enjoy a catered clubhouse where you can grab food and drinks (alcohol included) free of charge. The drinks on hand are amazing. I highly suggest trying the Banana Beer made by our favorite local brewery, Service Brewing Company. The stadium club area has its own waitresses, bathrooms and seating. These tickets are awesome and completely worth it if you can afford them and find them.

The Savannah Banana Experience
Now that you’ve read through the basics I’m going to share our Savannah Bananas experience.
My family of 6 attended our first game in early July 2022. We were lucky enough to receive stadium club tickets so we truly got the VIP experience. When we arrived, there was a sign in the road pointing to general parking and SC parking. The SC parking was right next to the SC entrance which made the entire process enjoyable. All my families with little kids know what I’m saying!
From there, we were able to walk right up in the SC seating area, grab a table and enjoy food and refreshments from the clubhouse. We did end up experiencing a rain delay (with lots and lots of lightning) so we all had to crowd into the clubhouse until the storm passed. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience. We were able to grab seats for all the kids at a window table so we snacked and watched the storm.
Our game finally ended up starting but I feel like we missed a ton of the entertainment since we were in the clubhouse. General seating has a covered area and fans sitting there were entertained by The Savannah Bananas staff during the rain delay. Once the rain stopped and the game started though everything was back on track for a great night!
We were able to see the Banana Nanas, the all women’s senior citizen dance team. We saw the Banana Baby performance (too cute!!) and we were visited by a good number of players! Our kids went back and forth between our SC seating and the general admission area because it was slightly difficult for them to see from where we were sitting. We also made great use of the open bar, the private bathrooms and the snacks in the clubhouse.
Having a waitress visit to get us whatever we wanted in the entire stadium (aside from merchandise) was a HUGE bonus. Our kids ordered cotton candy, soft pretzels, dippin dots and more. We tried the garbage can nachos which was a lot of fun for them. While these are far from fine dining, they’re an experience I suggest you try at least once for the novelty of it!
The entertainment at the game was amazing. The songs, the dancing, the players making their rounds to sign merchandise and taking photos with fans made this next level fun. I truly look forward to going back and experiencing more Savannah Bananas memories with my family!

Hi Melissa,
We will be attending our first Bananas game on March 2. We have general admission tickets so I know we will be fighting the crowd to get a good seat. I also know the gates open at 5:30. My question is this…Do general admission ticket holders line up much earlier than 5:30? In other words, if we get there at 5 are we going to be at the end of a long line for when the gates open?

Hi Ellen, I hope you guys had a blast! I don’t have experience with general admission but my hunch would have been to line up early. I think the players come up and provide a lot of entertainment as the lines are forming.
